The service is a mobile multi-stage restoration that brings yellow, cloudy headlights back to crystal clarity. It restores night visibility and factory lens clarity for vehicles in Charlottesville and Waynesboro, VA.
The Restoration Process
Inspection & Prep: The technician assesses the headlights for cracks or damage, tapes off the surrounding paint, and cleans off stuck-on dirt.
Wet Sanding: 1000-grit sandpaper is used to strip away the top layer of UV oxidation, followed by 3000-grit sandpaper to smooth out the sanding marks. This safely removes less than 1/38” of the polycarbonate lens.
Polishing: The lenses undergo a compound polish and a finishing polish to restore deep clarity.
Protection: The headlights are prepped and finished with a wax or sealant application to block future UV damage. (Note: Ceramic coatings are available for an additional cost).
